Magia del Duende is an innovative multifaceted center, which finds its origins in 2018 when David –
from France – decides to settle in Chazuta, a small traditional village from the Peruvian amazonian
rainforest, 1 hour from Tarapoto.
In 2021 he teams up with his wife Akiko – from Japan – to give birth to the center in its current form. 

The land was pure jungle when David first settles, and year by year, the center was build by hand, at a natural pace, in harmony with both nature cycle and David & Akiko cycles.

Magia del Duende was designed to allow our guests to experience living inside the Amazonian
rainforest with a wide range of options to sleep and different services as our healthy restaurant, local
tours of the beautiful and special village of Chazuta and its native communities, wide range of
workshops as how to make your own handmade chocolate, natural soaps, ceramics or even
ecological mushroom paper!

Medicinal Plants came naturally later on the path, and they are now an integral part of El Duende. Our medicinal garden now produces +80% of our medicines and restaurant & shop dishes.
