Experiential Tourism & Trekkings
The third aspect of Magia del Duende relates to the local-experiential tourism in Chazuta and the
surroundings. Chazuta is a unique village, proud of its identity (it has more than 500 years of
existence), it has many secrets characters with great wisdom : poets, artists, ceramists, healers and several associations of entrepreneur women that share with us their knowledge : creating ecological paper made with banana’s tree stalk, handmade bags with rubber, ancestral-typical food.
The ones who want to do some trekking will be pleased to discover the sulfurous hot springs
ChazutaYacu (45mn walk from our center, the sulfur is good for the skin and for the lungs too) or the
waterfalls Tununtunumba (a 1h30 walk, also a tremendous place). Eventually you can take a boat
from the main port to explore the native communities alongside the Huallaga river to discover a way
of living very different from the one we are used to in our modern societies.
Local Tours
Throughout the years we have connected with the local community and created beautiful partnerships that offer you the opportunity to explore all the local traditions, knowledge and lively history, via their residents.
Native Communities
To ask for a boat at the main port (collective boats go regularly, Achinamiza is the last community and there are impressive hot springs close to the village, 1h30 to 2 hours by boat from Chazuta, it worth it but a bit expensive if alone as you must privatize the boat).
Waterfalls & Hot Springs
We also offer guided treks to Chazutayacu Hot Springs (45m walking) and toTununtunumba Waterfalls (1.5h walking). Both are wonders worth immersing in to connect with the surrounding nature.
